Local shop messed up while balancing

So I recently bought 18's for my 08 Camry from a local shop where I live. I got them to balance the rim for me. Last Friday I went to pick up my rims with the tires and the told me that they forgot to do them, and said they would get on it Monday and have it done by the afternoon. Now this is where it gets worse, they phoned me today and said they damaged 2 of the tires slightly and they would try to fix it by the end of the day. Now not to sure how badly they messed up but the guy was really concerned. They called me back and said they couldn’t fix it and would replace the 2 tires for me.

Should I ask for the labour for balancing to be free for the inconvenience?

I concur

It's an unfortunate situation but you're getting new tires and therefore they are making you "whole". You'll have to pay them for the work that they actually do, the balancing.

Just make sure you don't ever go there again for anything...ever.

How often should you balance and align? It's been forever since I've done mine and it seems to be doing just fine. Rotate every 5000.

I think they should give you the balancing for free and throw in a free alignment too in good faith because of the inconvenience they caused you.

at least they are honest about it and trying to fix it. Many other place will just make it look alright and let U be on your way and blame U screwing it up.

agreed
i have no idea how mounting/balencing can be messed up....theres no excuse...
its good theyre paying for your tires, but where i work if you mess up, the labor is on YOU....
you should only have to pay the original mount/balence charges, and nothing more.

Thats the thing how can you mess up 2 tires while balancing? They said they would have them ready by tomorrow. So if they scratch the rim by chance what would i look for and how would i know? since they could of ruin the rims in the process of messing up the tires.
