Gen6 Aftermarket speakers

Has anyone replaced stock speakers?I want to keep factory radio for looks.I wonder if sound would be any better with stock radio.Any recomandation for the speakers?

Probably best to get a set of components for your front stage, and some sort of processor such as the JL clean sweep, RF 3sixty.2 etc etc.

Yours cardomain page looks interesting. btw, did you make a custom mounting for polk speakers to fit them instead of the factory speakers?

I replaced my rear speakers with some mid-ranged Pioneers, and you're right, they do sound worse then the stock speakers. Which is why I removed them and installed a sub in the trunk instead.

I used the frame of the factory speakers as platform for the replacements. I accomplished this by decapitating the front EOM mid-woofers from their frames. The black speaker frame with yellow foam shown on the 2nd page is what is left of the front OEM speakers.

Why did you only replace the rear speakers?

I would go with a strong front stage, preferably 6.5" components with both the tweeter and mid in the door and a sub setup. I wouldn't do too much with the rear speakers.
