Sun Visor clip came loose! Pics inside

okay so the stupid clip on the driver's side sun visor came off...I was like, no problem, let me snap it back into place...well I nearly fiddled around with this stupid thing for like 1 hour trying to put it back into place...I looked at every piece carefully...and I can't seem to figure out a trick to it!?! I am assuming it "snaps" back into place like the hooks in the trunk that holds the trunk liner in place (and other trim pieces)...

after giving up on the snapping procedure, I actually tried to wrap some tape and "jam" it in there and pray that it will hold into place...it held on for a few days...but when it got hot outside, the thing came off...

help please!

It looks like the tan clip is a 2 piece unit. push the retaining piece up first, then pull the center pin of the tan piece out till it just catches, then inset into the retainer. It looks like the center pin of the tan piece is the key for the lock. "Try it outside of the vehicle, first to figure how it works."

The retainer is keyed, may not have been installed correctly the 1st time.
