Gen6 07+ Camry V6 Harsh upshift

Please if anybody has experience this problem on 07 V6 Camry, let me know.

when i am driving and i am going down the hill and let go off the gas pedal and it downshift and then i push the gas slightly i get a harsh upshift like the car gets confused what gear it is downshift to so it can upshift to the correct gear.

I am not sure if there is a TSB on this or not, but did hear there is a TSB on ECM software version upgrade on transmission smooth shift. wondering if that would help or not.

That happens occasionally with me as well, if I'm coasting then push the gas down to accelerate again, theres a hard up shift. I don't believe there is a TSB or anything on this, it seems like it's just the way the transmission works.

My 07 SE V6 does the same while driving 10 mph on a short downhill intersection. It feels like the car tries to engine brake when you release the gas pedal. But mine stays on the same gear when I hit the gas pedal.

I get this problem when travelling around 40 MPH. Tap the brake, hit the gas, the car pauses while it searches for the correct gear, car slams into 4th gear spilling coffee on lap. . Now I never take sips when driving around 40 mph. I've never experienced this problem except under these driving conditions. I can't reliably replicate the problem either. OTOH, in rush hour traffic it happens once or twice during the commute.

I have had a similar experience when going up a steep bridge, my cure; put it in shift mode and find a gear which work best. This works good going downhill for me also. The transmission is supposed to be smart; however it can not anticipate traffic, if you have to slow down, or speed up just after a shift sometimes you will experience a harsh shift...at least that's my experience, and evaluation of what's going on.
