Gen6 Routing Floor Air Vent to Center Console

Has anyone successfully rerouted the air ducts to the back of the middle console between the passenger and driver seat? I think the XLE has air vents in the center console for the back seat passengers. I know this was discussed prior but I'm heavily considering modding my SE simply because I'd like to use the space under the passenger seat for some other mods.

So my questions is, I know the air ducts for the backseat route down under the driver/passenger seat, any way to cut out those ducts and reroute them to the center console? I'm prepared to completely remove the middle console and cut out that empty slot space if it is possible to reroute the floor air and purchase vent ducts that should fit in that slot.

My reasons for this is I plan on custom mounting some low-profile infinity basslink subs under the driver and passenger seats but I don't want the air ducts there to overheat the powered subs during the winter.

Or am I just crazy?

Can't you just turn the dial between the console vents so that the air blows out there instead of on the floor?

It certainly won't be a permanent change, but it will be a lot easier- just tell people who ride in your car not to change it.

The XLE still uses the floor vents but has a 3rd line that goes to the center console.

It shows them in your Service Manual A/C section.
