Question about Mods on an 09

Hello all,

I just purchased a 2009 V6 SE. Is there anything available aftermarket for them yet? Are the basically the same as the 2008 as far as engine and drivetrain? I want to do the CAI, exhaust and a tune.

Next question. Do they have traction control and is there anyway of turning it off? I have searched the car high and low, no button to turn it on or off.

Read your Window sticker. If you paid for VSC/TC, you got it.

I would expect you should know what you bought? If you opted for VSC you got traction control as well....how did you buy your car? On a walk by?
2009 and 2008 are the same, basically.Very, very minor differences like the blue tinted headlights on hybrids.

VSC/TRAC is permanent - no button to switch off if you have it.

i belive there is one exhaust out for the v6, borla. But from what ive seen the best bet is to go custom

fujita makes the only CAI also, but the stock intake is already more than enough i belive

Ive heard that the newer models toyotas ecu is unbreakable to good luck trying to get a tune out of it

good luck and show us how it comes out

All of the Gen 6 hybrids have the blue tinted headlights, just like how the SE's have the smoked tinted headlights.

As for mods, K&N makes an SRI, and there are several people here that have custom exhaust setups.

^^You will notice it when they are parked next to each other. It was pointed out to me this morning at the dealership. Thanks Geoff!

I had the window sticker in front of me, thought perhaps it was standard equipment and not listed. I guess I don't have it, which is fine by me. I hear it is very intrusive. I bought the car after looking at alot of 4 cylinder Camry's. It is nicely equipped and has the V6. Traction control didn't even cross my mind at the time.

I'm heading to Japan soon, so I wanted a good idea of what was out there aftermarket, I'll know what to look for. Maybe a turbo or supercharger setup.

lol, I was just about to say that.

It's hard to notice it if you just look at an SE, but if you go a dealer compare the LE/XLE to the SE, and you will see the difference.

VSC/TC on Gen6 Camry suck. It kicks-in too early. It was very noticeable when I had OEM wheels, but not after I installed 19" wheels with 235.40.19 tires. Maybe that was the solution to tame it.
