Angry Went to Dealer for Oil Change, Dealer scracted up bumper...

I took my brand new 2007 camry to a dealer for an oil change. The "Tech" servicing my car scratched up the bumper pretty bad. They want to "blend" the paint in, I think this may not be the optimal thing to do. What are my options? I have comprehensive insurance, but I don't want to get them involved if possible.

Thanks,

Its their fault. Tell them to repaint it if they scuffed it up that badly.

Your car should have its color-code.

Blending is perfectly acceptable.

yeah its a scratch you are just going to get plenty more in the life of this car. If i got bent out of shape by all my scratches on mine 2002 i'd have a nervous breakdown lol .

Moreover i keep the problem of stupud techs damage my car to a minimum by changing my own oil. I think if you keep the receipts or otherwise prove the oil was changed you are still within warranty?

I have a suggestion, scratches are infuriating to alot of us, so just get the plastic covering thing that they sell for the front of the car. Its applied by an installer, almost invisible, protects the front of the car from chips and scratches and costs about $200. 3m makes a good one.

Who's really stupid?

Accidents happen. I've accidentally scratched my own car before. Who hasn't? It's upsetting no matter how it happens.

Clearcoats allow for blending much easier today. Sometimes when you have one panel painted, the surrounding panels will be blended for a better paint match. Don't sweat it.
