Gen6 camry 07 audio question

hey there everyone

my friend just hooked me up with an amp and sub and now it comes down to wiring it all up. but theres something thats bugging me. one of my friends said i hi have to buy something (he doesnt know the name) that hooks in the back of our stock head unit so that i connect the wires from the amp to the headunit.

does that sound familiar to anyone who has a system in their car?
and is there anything else i need for my car when installing my system?

Gen6

If your amp does not accept speaker level input, you need a speaker level to line level converter as JSM mentioned. The non-JBL OEM 07 Camry head unit does not have line out. Owners of Gen6 Camry installed with H/U JBL upgrade can chime in.

I was told that you can use the line out converter by tapping into the rear speakers so all you have to do is run a power cable from the battery to the amp and you never have to touch the head unit assembly?

Do you have to tap into both rear speakers?

Also, from anyone who knows or has done this before. What is the best way to get the power from the Battery to the back of the vehicle? Is there a preferred hole to bring it in through the firewall and once you get up to the back seat, do you have to remove the back seat to somehow get the power into the trunk?

It would be great to have some pictures of the install if anyone is installing an amp soon.
