5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just purchased a used 07 Camry LE and I recieved just two master keys. One has the remote functions on it and one is just a black key. My question is what keys would have originally came with the vehicle? Would it have been two masters - both having the remote features? Also I assume it would have came with a valet key? Any help greatly appreciated!
2 master keys with remotes built in and one grey valet key
Thanks for the verification. That brings me to another question. I'd like to have the option to have another master made with the remote features on the key, but since it's a used vehicle, it didn't come with the keyring number used to program new keys. If I want a new master key, do I have to pay to have the entire ECM (or whatever it's called) replaced just for a spare with a remote? It really cheezes me that the Toyota dealership wasn't honest with me and gave me a spare key without the remote features.
Yes, it is. And so far I noticed that I only got two keys (one having the remote buttons on it) and the floor mats don't fit. They say Camry on them, but they don't fit right. They almost look a little small and the holes to fasten them to the floor of the car are WAY too close together to work. I'd like to ask the dealership to correct BOTH issues but they're good at giving me grief and feel like an idiot whenever I ask for something. Are these issues the dealership should take care of free of charge?

Since its a Toyota certified car you get all 3 keys and all floor mats. They know this and if you have to give them grief.
I purchased brand new 2 months ago. Dealer gave me 2 master keys with buttons + 1 valet key. To order an extra master key could cost over $200. So don't damge or lost your keys.

So I guess it's probably worth giving them grief to get what I'm entitled to. I want to get my facts straight before I contact them though. Without having the keyring number used to create spare keys, with the master keys they gave me (one with remote one without), will they be able to create me a new key with the remote features or is it a total loss without that number they give you with the keys when you buy them new? Same goes for valet. Once I get the facts I'll call and get it taken care of.... and some mats that fit. After shelling out all this money you'd think I'd get the right stinking mats!
What plastic key are you referring to? I didn't receive one with my car.
Its a plastic key that you can keep in you wallet in case you leave you key in the car and it locks--only opens doors, does not unlock glove compartment or start engine.
