The appropriate harnesses finally arrived in the mail today so I'm starting now with the installation. Already removed the stock head unit, my question now is where is the speed sensor wire located...or a short DIY would be nice if anyone has installed an Avic D2/D3 in their Gen 6. Thanks

And yes, I already searched.

I dont think you need the speed sense wire for the d3 model. I installed one in my friend's honda civic, and we didn't hook it up, and it was still reading the mph.

if you want your expected arrival times to be accurate you should connect it

It should be fine. When i had my eclipse double din, I didn't connect the speed sense wire, and the accuracy was fine. Also on my kenwood double din right now, I didn't connect the speed sense wire, and it is working fine.

The speed sensor is probably for dead reckoning. It will probably work fine without it as others have stated. To find the wire, you'd have to look in the service manual.
