Gen6 Leather or Cloth?

I'm debating leather or cloth. Probably end up with a SE V6.

I like the leather as its more luxury and easier to clean but I hate that when its winter, its cold (then again, theres heated seats) but in the summer, its hot.

The cloth is nice (kind of like mesh) but if it gets dirty, might be hard to clean. So I just want to see what owners suggest and what they have.

Go leather..as you said easy tokeep clean, heated seats for the winter (can always put a seat cover on too)..and if you tint your windows...the heat isn't AS bad...plus when you turn the AC on they cool down fairly quickly.

I went cloth. My car is black and I wanted to keep the heat down. I also have a car seat so I worry about the leather cracking. Leather is more luxurious, but I'd rather do custom leath down the road...if I even choose to.

There's a place called Moss Motors (www.miatamania.com) that sells a seat heater kit for like $125/ seat. You can have clotch with heat, my SVT Focus came that way.

Yea, I am going to tint the windows to keep some heat out.

I went with cloth because I have to park outside 7 months out of the year. Leather cracks if not cared for in the sun and, on the contrary, cloth is way easier to clean and requires no mantinance.

I leave my car out all year long. Its just the occasional leather moisturizer or something like that to keep it from cracking? How often is leather applications applied?

i don't know about the SE but the cloth in the LE seems like its stain-resistant. i had a couple of instances where i thought the stain wouldn't come out but just a simple wet paper towels and the stain lifts right out. pretty neat!

I upgraded to leather via professional upholstery shop. I didn't like how the cloth seats looked and felt.

Haven't had any regrets really since the upgrade since the look and feel of my seats are great. Only thing that I can tell you is that leather can be a b1tch to maintain, esp. during the summer time.

I assume maintaining it from cracking? If so, ideas, suggestions or products you use?

When I test drove the l4 and V6 (cloth and leather respectively), I didnt really notice a difference in comfort. Might have to take a look at both again in order for me to make a decision but always good to see which majority went with cloth and which went leather.

Yeah, I usually try to prevent cracking. I use Lexol conditioner/cleaner and then leather preservative. Since I leave my car parked outside in the sun both at home and at work, I apply Lexol more often and usually apply it on my interior every other weekend or 2-3 times month. So far so good.

I went with cloth for the temperature reasons. I hate leather that burns you in the summer, especially in a black car. The cloth in the 2009 SEs has a nice appearance to it.

I think it's similar/the same as the 08 version. I personally think it looks great!
