5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just started a new job, which leaves me with some financial leverage to start investing more in my car.
I'm lookin to lower and get some rims.
But right now i'm lookin at 2 sets of springs.
either TRD's (roughly $200?)
or
a set of Eibach Pro-kit springs.
from what I hear, Eibach's got good springs after settling you won't expect them to sag down or lower your car after some time with use..
I don't know about TRDs..
And i know this came up in some of the other threads, but will somebody please
enlighten me with the shock/coil situation or watever it is..
dampener?
the thing that holds your spring.
would i need to change mine out? (08 LE I4)
or can i just leave them be. and roll with new springs?

TRD springs are made by Eibach. As of right now there are no after-market struts, so you need to use what you currently have.
Correction: The only struts available are part of the coilovers. I remember reading that a member could get the Ksports for like $800 or something like that.

then wat would be better?
to dish out $200 for the TRD's?
or the extra for the pro series eibachs?
Usually TRD is actually a little expensive than Eibach because it's a rebadge of Eibach. But TRD springs will keep your warranty in place for sure if installed by an authorize dealer shop.
I had Eibach installed because TRD were backorder last year and I didn't want to wait. They are the same anyway. My dealership doesn't give me any problem at all with Eibach.

As of March 1, another $2200 body shop bill due to deer attack..
You still have a warranty if you install TRD components yourself, I believe it's in the area of 19K miles and doesn't cover the cost of the TRD component if a malfunction happens.
