Question looking to buy...what do you think?

Ive found an 07 SE for sale at a dealership. Heres a quick run through of what the car has:
sunroof
leather
jbl system
bluetooth
heated seats
spoiler
and all other stock features

The car is still brand new with only 5 miles on it. never been out of the warehouse. After document fees and talking them down a bit, they're asking 26100. Is that too much?

The 09's are about 28K with all of the items mentioned except leather seats. The reason I would opt for the 09 for an additional $1,900 or so is because of the transmission. I would go for the 09 and see how much I could negotiate. There were several reports of transmission issues on the 07 V6's. I heard that the problem has almost disappeared with the 08's and 09's. I'm not sure how common the problem was, but I've seen people posting similar horror stories. Even if it was not too common, it isn't worth the chance in my opinion. Since the price given to you for the 07 was already negotiated, I would pass on it and check out an 09.

Buy it today and then need to sell it next week and you have a two year old car with two years of depreciation. No, it's too much for the 07. If you are genuinely interested in a new car, work out a good deal on an 09 and if you must, offer a very low ball price for the 07 and see if they take it, but what they are offering at this point is way too high, even for Oahu.

Welcome to TN. Another person from Hawaii

It is not that much more expensive buying here vs. the mainland. My dealer showed me on paper and it was only about a $950 difference.

If you go to Servco Auto Leeward in Waipahu, talk to a salesman named Jim Hunter. He will take good care of you.

The dealership downtown had their Camry's at a $300 mark up when I shopped there.

26k for an 08 SE is not bad considering that the 09' V6 SE's at toyota.com are 25k.

If your APR is right.....go with it.

As for people having transmission issues, don't let people scare you. It was only a hand full of Camry's out of a bazillion.

I read your original post wrong. For some reason I thought you were talking about an 08'.

If what you see as msrp is 29k, and dealer wants 26k, I would do it.

I think paying $27k for a 07 is a bit overpriced. I was at the dealers and saw a 08 SE V6 with a sticker price of about $29k-30k. On the windshield, it said to take off another $3k. No leather, but everything you mentioned. Dont remember if I saw nav. For the age of the car I would try and go for $25k
