205-60-16 Uncommon Tire Size?

I am planing to upgrade the wheels and tires for my 03 LE. Due to the speedometer error, I just want to change from 205-65-15 to 205-60-16, which only have 0.7% difference. If I choose 215-55-17, that will introduce 3% of error. I would like to keep the same tire width.

I went to tirerack and found a wheel I like, and the suggestion tire size for the wheel is 205-60-16.

I am kind of surprise that they don't have this size of Goodyear tires in stock. Is it an uncommon tire size? Will it cause me some troubles purchasing tires in the future?

Your post confuse me because you jumped from 15 to 16 then to 17 size tires. So are you willing to change the rims size?
If you want to keep your stock wheels/rims then you will need to stay the same size which is 15".

im guessing the rim you are looking at is a 16x7? in that case i think a 215-60-16 would fit well, they are a pretty common tire, as they came stock on my car. and the 10mm extra tire width will make little to no difference.

Thank you for the reply. Actually, what I mean is that I want to upgrade the rim size from 15" to 16", and the recommadation tire size for the 16x7 rim by tirerack is 205-60-16. What surprised me is that they don't have that size of tires in stock. My concern is that this may cause me some trouble buying 205-60-16 size tires in the future.

Thank you for the reply. I found a good website which offers a tire size calculator. If I upgrade to 215-60-16, that will cause the diameter of the tire larger, by the tire size calculator, that will have 2.6% difference in the diameter. That error is kind of large for my personal opinion. That's the reason I want to choose 205-60-16 size of tires. I attached the link of the calculator. there are a lot of useful information also.

www.tire.com shown 205-60-16 has 18 different brand of tires.
215-60-16 has 29 brand of tires. Yes, it has a lot less compare to the 215 but 18 different brand of tires are still a good selections of tires.
