5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Modified Mag tested these a couple issues ago, April I believe, and they instantly got 11 hp on a 350z. Pulstar claims about 6% better fuel economy, they also claim horsepower and torque gains. I realize that camry's won't have as dramatic improvements as other cars may but if they're worth it at all it may be a good investment. Just for better gas mileage, I don't care about the hp and torque.
Has anyone had experience with these in their camry or other cars? Any input?

I would simply buy and test it. Here is there guarantee:
Guarantee: If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with Pulstar™, simply return it within 30 days along with proof of purchase for a no questions-asked refund. We do not refund shipping costs.
In 30 days you can get an idea of it saves any gas. But $150 for a set of 6 is a lot of gas savings to do to be just break even.

I have those plugs. I've had them in for about 2,000 miles now. It usually takes one tank refill to notice any change in fuel consumption. Did have the numbers crunched by my friend and I got a few more MPG's squeezed out, but nothing to call the EPA and be proud of. He has them in his 03 V6 Accord, and it actually smoothed out the idling and there's a slighter stronger lower octave tone that you can hear from the engine on acceleration.Kinda cool on his car.
I am not sold yet. I have messed with allot of plugs in racing to get a better burn. moving up or down a heat range usually got some results. Hotter was a leaner burn and you had to be sure you did not melt the pistons with two hot of a plug. The Iridium plug by Denso is a very good plug the company also makes NGK and Autolite. All are good plugs but the hard to find Denso is the real deal for Iriduim plugs due to the seal of the plug and the metal used to make it go POP! You might remember the Split Fire Plugs back quite a few years worked good as long as you pulled them and cleaned them once a month. I watched the little video and combustion from a hot plug while true is only part of the formula. Gas needs to be sprayed at a very even pattern and the shape of the head and the angle of the plug all effect the POP! Some vehicles have a poor head design and no matter what they are pore performers. Port and polish a head and what a diff being smooth makes.Back to the plug if it is to hot your engine could suffer a shorter life so I guess you would have to figure that in. If that spark arcs to a speck of carbon on the piston you will burn the piston real quick. I wonder if they will replace your motor if that happens? And what would the dealer say when he found that plug was way to hot. I guess you again have to think about using 6% of your fuel to power the car or Get a hybred and get 15% to do the job still pore bang for the buck.
And of course it could be placebo effect. As far as I concern. the only difference I would say is "service life" when you need to re-gap it/change them (double platinum vs platinum vs copper)
When people say they change my spark plugs with new ones, it runs smoothly.... I would say duh... since the old one that where used for xx months.
