I got my car back awhile ago after getting rear ended and never really paid attention to this until today while cleaning my trunk. Is there suppose to be anything covering up the bare metal? Here is a pic.

Also I have the factory rear trunk mat also, is it suppose to have a logo of some sort? I swore I saw it before and I'm thinking that the body shop swapped it out for a generic one.

My XLE has the trunk interior covering on the bare vertical surface that your pictures shows and I believe the trunk mat says CAMRY.

Nope. It's bare metal on mine too. My trunk mat doesn't have logo either.

(Well, not so bare but I think you get the idea

Maybe just the luxury Japanese built ones have that interior trim piece.

+1 - but only the vertical part is covered. The top is not - unfortunately.

Edit: Mine is an US built model.

Nah, the metal is bare. I contemplated taking it off and spraying a dark gray gloss to color match the floor mat..

That area (horizontal top of the trunk back there) is covered with the trunk covering material in the XLE, but not in the SE. Looks like the vehicle in question here is an SE.

The optional/accessory trunk mat has a Camry logo in the middle.
