Extremely Ticked off and upset!

So basically I spilled a couple of drops of coffee in the gear shifter assembly. This caused the plastic to stick a little bit. I didn't think anything of it and thought I could simply remove the plastic and subsequently clean it off.

This is a 2002 Camry LE L4. The plastic piece that holds the cup holder and the handbrake came off very easy once the storage compartment was open. I figured sweet this would be easy. I gently lifted up the the plastic gear selector housing and cleaned off the coffee. I accidentally broke off the back portion of the plastic. Man that's some cheap plastic! I put the big plastic piece back on and could not shift very easily. The plastic rubber that is around the gear was getting stuck. Lo and behold I found that the FRONT of the gear selector was ALSO BROKEN! How cheaply made is this plastic piece?!?

Now I have a disassembled rear interior and can't for the LIFE of me figure out how I'd remove the plastic gear selector since it's much smaller than the actual gear selector. Do you guys have any idea what this would cost me if I had a body shop or dealer replace the plastic housing?

I don't need the whole plastic trim piece. That's separate from the trim piece that goes around the shift lever.

How do I remove the plastic trim that has the "P R N D 2 L" on it? It's smaller than the shift lever.

You are not great at explaining but the picture helped.

Do you mean smaller than the shift knob????

I'm sorry it's late and I'm trying to figure this out lol.

The plastic trim piece that has the writing on it is indeed smaller than the shift lever. This is the piece that has the front and rear broken tabs and what I need to replace. What's happening is the "black claw" is getting stuck in between the top of the shifter and the plastic trim that houses storage as well as the cigarette lighter. The claw is apparently getting stuck because the plastic pieces that broke off of the black trim assembly secured the plastic claw.

I would imagine that the shift knob needs to be removed from the shift lever.

As for the part, see your dealer for more detail or buy the whole big part.
