Seems like the best my 08 camry will do is 26mpg. It is an I4. Anyone else getting better than that?
My 05 got 34mpg in the same exact driving conditions "to work and back". It had more power to. I wish I'd kept it.
I only have about 3600 miles on the 08. Maybe the rings hasn't seated yet? Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!!
im with danorthface ive been getting 28-30 mpg driving long distances on the weekends and just around town during the week. best I did on a tank averaged to about 34mpg and that was on country roads doing between 50 and 65 in below freezing temps. the high speed highway ends up hurting the mileage a little bit.
i also have a manual transmission though. Im not sure what to tell you except the vehicle is heavier than other gens. and i dont know anything about your driving habits, how often the vehicle shifts, weather, etc.

As of March 1, another $2200 body shop bill due to deer attack..
My '08 LE V6 averages about 26.5 highway/metro stop-and-go. I've yet to run a full tank at straight highway cruise, but expect 28-30. I've got nearly 7K on the clock so far.
i would Give it 5,000 to 10,000 ,miles for the engine to completely loosen up. Years ago Car and Driver magazine did long term tests on cars. And the mpg and performance on most of them was better after they had a few miles on them.
I've started doing mix driving, 3 miles on freeway and the next 5 miles on busy street. I noticed a precipitous decline from what I was used to getting, it went from 32 mpg (80% hwy driving) to roughly 22-24 mpg I'll have to get used to it.

I get 390 miles to a full tank of gas. So if my calculations are correct, overall I get 26 mpg. I drive 50 miles a day. 40 of those are highway miles. (I hate word problems)... lol.. can someone help me figure out the average city/hwy miles? . :| I feel dumb/lazy.
