Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I wouldn't test to find out....but if you do cover your squirrel spotters and replace the HID with Halo's before returning the car...nobody will ever know or even ask.
I returned some leased cars in the past and they really don't go in any detail...just looking for obvious damage/issues.

but won't that ruin the lights for the next person since they wont be able to see the street signs anymore
i don't want to have people not being able to see on my concisous since i plan on returning the spotter to a 45 degree before i return it..
but if u say it won't matter i willing to think about it.
Can't say it want matter entirely....but I don't think it really ads risk to the new owner, my opinion. They do aim (supposedly) at the street signs, but they do also introduce some glare even so not as much as the brighter HID. If you need the light of the squirrel spotter to see the traffic signs....you got more problems. But that is just me, I would not worry much. Also, all most HID projectors I have seen don't have these either (to avoid the glare), nor older cars...and they are all are not safety concerns.
if you are worried about it when you return...cover them and stick your stock bulbs back in to see the difference...if there isn't much difference on the light output...no worries about putting them back the way they were...
If you're that nervous about it, either buy used headlights and mod them, or don't do it to begin with. Either way. when you return the car, I highly doubt they'll even notice that the squirrel spotters have been covered. Plus, if the car has foglights, it really doesn't even need the squirrel spotters since they illuminate overhead as well.

If you just want to do this so it can be reversed, simply fold down the squirrel spotters and don't cover it with anything. Thats how mine is setup, and looks good, I also never get flashed.
actually, i tried this and the cutoff is very ugly. The amount of light getting through was probably more than leaving it as stock.
