Help with HID trunk connection

Hi everyone. I have a HID kit in the trunk from an Infiniti G35. The thing is, my trunk sensor is broken, which makes my HID light stay on, even when the trunk is closed. Due to this, I'll need to buy a switch. I don't know anything about switches or nething of that sort. I was wondering how I can wire it up and etc etc? Please help!

To make the HID kit work, I need to insert the fuse here. Otherwise, I take it out -.-

Where will I need to splice and what kind of switch do I need? Thank you.

i would just go to radio shack and find a switch that can handle 8 amps and 18 volts. Splice it into anywhere in the circuit you want.

if you want to be safer, use a relay and switch.

Why not try and fix the trunk sensor?

Umm, have you even tried checking it if you're still under warranty?

a bit overkill for the trunk, no? anyway, you can splice in a switch before or after the fuse, doesn't really matter where. i hope that hid trunk light has a relay harness, because the original wiring for the trunk light is in NO WAY capable of handling the current draw of the hid ballast.
