Wow, we haven't had this thread for months..............
i checked ebay and there isnt much there. even if there was ive had nothing but bad experiences on past vehicles with buying body parts from there. i reckon i shoulda mentioned that ebay was not an acceptable answer to my question in the first post

I was a little worried about buying my spoiler from eBay. I don't regret it now. I put it on a few weeks ago and it is a perfect fit and color match. I got it from this seller. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...spagenameZWDVW

Someday I will list my mods here
Under the trunk, there is a carpet underneath. Do you remove it to, drill a hole, and put it back ? Or drill the hole thru the carpet ? Never have chance to look carefully at it.
Alrighty bro, I just did this mod myself so I will step by step it since it is still fresh in my mind....
1. Open your trunk lid. You will see little black plastic things holding the trunk liner in place. Take a flat head screw driver and pop them out. DONT LOOSE THEM. Remove trunk liner ("carpet")...
2. Close trunk lid and carefully align the template that comes with the spoiler.
3. Double check your template alignment.
4. Triple check your template alignment.
5. On the template you will see a set of 'circles' on the tabs. That is where you take a small drill bit and drill into your trunk lid.
6. Once your holes are drilled, take off the template and apply small dobs of primer to the exposed metal on both sides of the holes. (inside the lid and out) To prevent rust 5 years from now.
7. Take your spoiler and insert the bolts into the holes.
8. Tighten all the nuts.
9. Reinstall your trunk liner with plastic pieces.
10. Close trunk lid and stand back to admire your handy work.
The primer you mentioned is the one we usually applied to the bare metal or plastic before putting the base coat ?
Thank you ebumdude.
You can use any primer for metals. I went to Walmart and got some kind of Rust-olium primer used for metal "around the house projects". It was like 3 bucks or so for the little can, you only need a few drops of it and a little foam paint brush.
And your welcome. Thats what this place is for.
