camry torque converter stuck?

Hello, I'm having soom problems with my camry. I hope you good people will have info that will get me back on the road. I have a 2003 camry with a 2.4L and auto trans, it has 150k miles and has been the beat car that I have owned. I am almost 100% sure that the input shaft seal blew so I pulled the motor and tried to pull the torque converter out and it will not budge, I don't want to try and pry until I get more info. What is the trick for removing it? Has anyone else had a seal go? The motor has never had anything done besides tune ups what else should I take care of while the motor is out?

Any help and or advise will be greatly appreciated, Thank you...

the toyota service manual is the bible for all things camry....it contains every bit of info from how much oil a 2.4 2az-fe takes all the way to how to pull the engine and take it apart....id invest in one if youre doing work of this caliber

For some reason this thread reminds me of the time I saw a penguin that I thought blew a seal. Turns out it was just ice cream.

...don't ask, I'm on my 4th Mt. Dew and having a mild spaz attack.

Oh, and for f**ks sake - get a manual if you aren't sure. Don't just undo bolts and guess.

Heavy loss of trans fluid, I filled fuild up and drove to ensure proper operation before I pulled motor. I also checked the trans out visually to see where the leak was and determined the leak was from the input shaft seal.
Thanks.

Actually, you didn't choose the wrong site. You're just refusing to take the advice that was given. That's about as smart as pulling the engine instead of the transmission...

Get a manual.

Often it's easier to pull both out of the car and separate them from there. I had a clausterphobic barfing session once taking just the transmission out of a Nissan Micra to change the clutch.

Isn't there a downloadable manual in this site somewhere? I looked through it, more advanced than a Haynes manual.
I'm still looking for someone to tell me how high I need to lift the engine up to clear the mounts from the lower control arms so I can replace them. The service manual states as first step 'Remove engine and transaxle' and I don't have a solid tree branch to hoist them with.
