Gen6 K&N filter fitment issues

I purchased a K&N air filter for my car (the proper model number based on what the K&N site said which I can't recall right now). When I went to install it, the filter didn't fit very well into the stock airbox/intake. The factory air filter fit without a problem but the K&N really had to be forced into place. The snapping tab things that hold the upper part of the airbox were very difficult to snap into place, but they did finally go. FYI, I didn't use any devices or tools to snap them in place, just my hands.

Did anyone else experience this problem?

TRD filters seem to fit better than K&N filters.

Every car that I've had with a K&N requires a little bit of work to get them to fit properly. Some K&N filters actually come with some weatherstrips to make them seal properly.

I've never seen any fitment issues with any TRD air filters.

Thanks guys. I guess I am not the only one with this problem. Hopefully everything is installed and functioning properly.
