Need to disconnect battery to push out bumper

Always parking your car in the safest places to avoid dings doesn't always pay off. I parked in the last spot in a row, backed into the spot, and I still got hit! It was on the plastic part of the bumper, so it's just pushed in. It has been suggested that I can probably push it back out. You can't get to it from the bottom of the car, I can almost reach it if I try from the engine area. If I removed the battery, I could probably get to it with no problem. The dent is about the size of a plate.

My question is this... If I take out the battery, is there anything that needs to be reset other than the radio stations and clock? I've heard a rumor that with all the fancy-smanchy electronics on cars that a special sequence has to be followed to reset the system.

I've googled and searched these forums to no avail. Please help.

It's a 2007 V6 Camry Sports Ed.

shouldn't be any problem with removing the battery. It might be just as easy to pop the bumper off and push the dent out that way.

it will have to relearn the idle and it will also relearn your driving style. But it shouldn't be a problem..i just changed batteries and i never had a problem.

Am I missing something here? I removed my front bumper before to covered the squirrel spotter. Why do you have to disconnect the battery in order to remove the front bumper?

No matter how far you park or if you're the only car in the parking lot, some schmoe will park next to your car and you'll walk back to your car with a ding or scratch.

i dont think the goal was to remove the bumper. they just wanted remove the battery so that the dent could be reached and pushed out without removing the entire bumper
