5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Hey im planning to purchase a new 2009 camry or 2008 IS250 RWD and i need help im looking to buy a camry SE V6 with leather, moonroof, JBL audio or a lexus IS 250 RWD base with fabric seats, just because i love the lexus styling so much more but i was just wonder what would you guys recommend and also i was looking at the base 2009 acura tsx with fabric seats is it worth it to go with the lexus or acura? why or why not and by the way i live in ontario canda so the base IS250 doesnt have the 17" rims or leather/moon roof.
thats true, but the lexus has for saftey features, such as brake force distribution stability control and traction control, either way im adding in snow tires, thanks for the quick response
weigh factors, AWD= better all year traction, no problem in snow, wet. Camry= more power, plus better fuel economy and comfort. Lexus- less power, not as good fuel economy, rougher ride (more sporty). Resale value- Lexus will hold it better. Tey are two totally different animals, just look at your lifestyle and choose which one fits you best, not just that you like the lexus styling better
I would say go for an IS250 AWD if you are concerned about driving a lot in the snow/rain. Really good balance of price, luxury, and fun. Of course, a Subaru WRX/STI or Mitsu Evo might be a lot more fun for that kind of money...
Personally, the IS350 would have been my choice if it was offered in a stick AWD form and cost about $10k less. Otherwise, the actual IS350 RWD was clearly my favorite choice if it wasn't for the price (and ignoring the small back seat). I much prefer how Lexus dealerships treat customers to Toyota.
You might as well purchase an ES350--it's roughly $2,000 more, it's FWD, and it doesn't suck. $32k for a 2.5L 204HP RWD car in snow? Granted, it looks great; however, in the end, you're still overpaying for a Lexus badge, lesser performance and headaches in bad weather.
yeah, i got a camry 2008, but i had no idea about the term FWD and RWD. All i know is front wheel drive and rear wheel drive.
I got do some research right now.
