60,000 miles maintenance

I have an '02 Camry with 61,000 miles, still run like a new one, I am not having any problems at all. I do oil change every 3000 miles. I went to a local dealer to have an oil change and I was told I need to have the 60,000 miles maintenance amounting to $500+, I declined there recommendation because I'd like to find a better price somewhere before I do that. Do I need to have this done? I did not do the 30,000 miles maintenance before. Things that were changed in my car were transmission fluid, tires and serpentine belt, my brakes are still original and last time Midas checked my brakes I was told i still have more than 50% on my pads and have it ckecked again once my car hit the 70,000 miles. Any thoughts about the 60,000 miles maintenance. thanks

read the manual. You need to at least change the air filter... 60k without changing the air filter??

Without regard to the mileage there are a few things you need to check and much of this you can do yourself if you don't mind getting a little dirty.
-Eyeball the water hoses. They generally wear from the inside out and you can't tell if it's shot until it splits out at an inopportune time. At 6 years of age and this mileage, consider replacing at least the upper radiator and heater hoses. The lower rarely fails but it is cheap and I'd replace it at the same time, but it's your car.
-Don't overlook the vacuum hoses. They break too.
-Take this opportunity to flush out the cooling system and replace the coolant with some good Toyota red or pink, whichever is specified by the parts counter.
-Eyeball the water pump shaft to see if it is leaking. Might need to replace it the next time you need to replace the cam belt if it has one.
-Search the front and rear of engine for oil leaks
-Check CV boots for any tears.
-Look at shocks/struts for oil leaks. About time to replace them all anyway.
-Pull the dipstick on the AT and check the level and color. Should be a nice ruby red. If at all discolored it's time to change the fluid.
-Yes, the air filter should be checked and probably replaced.
-Check things like tail lights, stop lights, tire pressure.

You should do AT LEAST the preventative maintenance in the factory maintenance guide.

There are plenty of threads on this topic if you use the search feature.

Replace the engine and cabin air filters.

There's no need to replace the transmission fluid since you've done it already, and the coolant is good until 100k.

I would personally flush/bleed the brake system with new fluid, but this isn't required by Toyota. Sears could do it for less than $40.
