Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am going to start doing blacked out emblems for people who are interested and don't want to do their own. Just PM me for details. Here are some sample pics:
Forgive the little brown spot, my camera phone has a piece of dirt (or poo) in it.

Very nice. I would definitely be interested but I assume that those who are interested will have to take their emblems off, ship it to you, let you repaint and ship it back. So while all this is happening, owner will be driving around with no emblems.

Here's what I will do:
The finish on these are so nice that I will put my seal of approval against flaking and paint chipping unless you purposely scrape them on the ground. They have about 9 coats of clear coat on them. (that is a no shitter)...
You do not have to take off your old emblems to ship them to me. These are brandnew OEM chrome emblems that are painted.
The price for the emblems here in Hawaii from the dealer are $50 together for both front and rear. (which already includes the 3M tape on the back)
I will only charge $15 more for materials used, ie: paint, clear coat, sand paper, shipping and of course gas. $65 bucks shipped from my door to yours. I just like these so much, I want to start doing this for others. Only PayPal is accepted to assure that nobody is getting ripped off.
(this is starting to sound more like a commercial)

just a sugestion, but I think you should have color matched the black back for the front emblem. it's just going to look like a black hole in the front of your car from a distance now. just a thought.

I thought about it....but color match paint here is expensive. I definitely looked into it already.

go to autozone. I used the Import Super White from autozone and it came out perfect. Im sure they will have your color.
Autozone in Hawaii?? LoL.....sorry bro, they don't have that here. The closest thing that there is next to going to the dealer for touch up paint, is the crappy paint selection from Walmart.
And even if I did get paint from Walmart, there is no guarantee's that it will be color match to your vehicle. I don't want anyone to be unhappy, so I am just doing blacked out color's only.

the other thing with you color matching the background for each car is that you will have to take the emblem off of the background and paint it then add double sided 3M tape again.
if you decide to go this route the price for labor will definately be higher, but i guess you already have to temove thebackground to paint the form emblem, right?
your emblems look good i would have prefered a gunmetal color to the ones on my wifes car but its to late. :-(
Out of curiosity, what color is the oval space behind the emblem on the Gen 6's? If it is already the proper body color (blue in my case), why couldn't you just remove that black mesh thing from the emblem. Then you could paint the emblem itself and stick it directly on the car without the mesh/black piece.

The mesh on the front emblem is black on all cars no matter what color car you have. If you have a Gen 6, wouldnt you know what color is on the mesh on the front emblem?

Try to take the front emblem off by uself and you will see a hole behind it that is not just an emblem without a base can cover up...
