Gen6 Rock Chip

Does anyone know how much or an estimate of replacing the front window would cost? i was driving home from school, barely got on the freeway where it merges and some truck had to cut me off and ZOOM off like he's cool and a rock flew up and chipped my window pretty deep. he exit and i couldnt follow him. I'm just wondering how much it'll cost since the window seems like it has antenna built in.

i told myself im not gunna buy the things i want for the car to save money, but then problems come to me.

veryyyy depress

It's a weekday. A glass company in your area can give you an estimate better than other people all over the country/world. Call them and ask.

Post your results. I'm interested in the cost.

Sorry about your bad luck, but crap like that happens to everyone.

Don't worry about the joking around either.

You got any pics? Maybe you can try those windshield chips injectors from Pepboys for about 10-15 bucks, if it hasn't turned into cracks though. You could save some money. I think your built in antenna is on the rear window. I have a few little chips on the windshield as well, but it's too small for the injectors, so I just have to live with it.

I got rock chips everywhere man, especially the front bumper, that's why I always have that touch up paint in my pockets. Haha.

Good Luck Friend

Contact your insurance company! They usually replace it free of charge and will not increase your premiums.

Eric.

If you have zero deductible Comprehensive coverage........and if you've paid for that for awhile, it's hardly free.

I just replaced my cracked windshield today...cost was $304.78...that was the lowest. Got it from www.Glass.net They give you 3 quotes...304 was lowest and 390 was the highest. If you have electrochromatic mirror the price will be higher....

I got mine replaced for free. Insurance company covered it because it was right in my viewing field in front of my face.

In Mass, all glass is covered by the insurance company as part of the policy.
I had to have a windshield replaced once and it was covered for free. So I would definatly check with your Insurance company.

Glenn

Total cost to replace the windshield in my Camry - $530.00 at Speedy Glass.

Maybe that helps, but like the others have said, talk to your insurance company about replacing it before you get it done - they will probably cover the cost.

I've replaced three windshields and a passenger window on my old Scion and my wifes Scion xB all in - not cost me a penny thanks to having good insurance.
