5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
i was helping a friend move and had a bunch of boxes going in and out of the car. about 20+ boxes over 3 trips... anyways, the boxes were apparently really dirty bc now the seats in the back are dirty. there are light color stains and spots of dirt all over the rear seats... the seats just look dirty when looking at them, not just " oh its clean seats, it just has a few dirt spots on them..."
but more like " wtf is wrong with her seats.. it looks like horses had an orgy in there after running through the desert.. im not gettin in that sh!t...".
i need to clean them but don know how... i did a search but only found cleaing tips for leather. i have an 08 SE with the cloth seats and the SE had a different type of cloth than the my friends 08 LE... i tried water and a towle but the seats suck up the water after a few rubs and the stains on the seats just get bigger. i have the black interior, i think its properly called charcoal??? idk but i need ur help! i wish i could just take the cloth off and throw it in the washer.... help!
another question off topic, but how much do you guys think it will cost me for installation on the lighted door sills from ebay?? you know, the ones that need electirc work hooked up to the dome and courtesy lights?? i called a palce today and the guy quoted me $60. i think he was triing to rip me off. what do you think should be a good price? hopefully you guys can give me a decent price and i can ask the intall guy to give it to me for that price... i just need to makre sure i wear something that shows some cleavage lol
try the spray cleaners from turtle wax..they work great on everything
spray evenly on the seat or door upholstery and rub vigorously. Then, wipe it thoroughly with a dry cloth.
If you don't have an upholstery cleaner, simple laundry detergent will work as well. Just mix some detergent with
warm water, dip a clean cloth into it, wring out good and then just wipe the seat. Work harder on dirty areas. Then,
rub dry with a clean, soft cloth. Don'tsoak the seat with water, it will cause stains on the seat and mould smell.
Try one of these at Kragen, Autozone or any autoparts store. The picture is just a sample of one of them, you don't have to buy this one.

Oxy Magic works great. But, be careful when you're cleaning the seat. If the seat is already somewhat old (color of the seat a bit dull), the spot cleanning will leave a bright part on your seat compare to surrounding. Car details will be another choice, but it will cost you.
id have put a cloth over my seat or something tyo prevent that from happening...one of the realities of owning a car with cloth seats is that they do stain....like lammydi said the armor all oxy magic works well for stains, so id go with that
