Some cars, the Radio receiver have anti-thief so if it lost power completely it will think it got removed from the car and won't work after. Normally the dealer can reset it but just to avoid all the troubles it is best not to do unplug the power.
How old is the battery inside that remote alarm? If it is more than 2 or 3 years, maybe it is weak. Does it have any feedback telling you that it has receive 2 press? For example, my car if I press unlock once it will beep once and if I press twice it will beep twice to indicate it gets 2 signal and unlock all doors.
Hope what I said helped.
