5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I guess driving over potholes in the winter has started to show it's damage, the winter caused my car to become misaligned, and now theres some pretty nasty abnormal tire wear on one of the tires, where the side facing out is down past the tread, although the two tires that are now in the front have quite a bit of tread left. Also, one of the wheels is slightly bent so the car vibrates going around 65-75MPH.
So this is what I'm wondering, should I just replace the rear two tires with new ones, replace all 4, or just say screw it and buy new wheels and tires (which would also fix the vibration, hopefully).
These are the wheels that I would be considering, which would go along with my new 225-45-18 tires ($153 per rim):
buy a second set or rims for winter... i thought you had steelies for winter use
I actually have two sets besides what I have on now; the stock 16" steelies with factory all-seasons, and the SE wheels which are currently running bald all-seasons (I will be using those with snow tires come winter).

Thanks for the input, I guess at least for now I will just buy two new tires if I can find a good deal at a tire shop, although I bet the prices will be pretty high.
Is it ok to run 225-45-18 on one axle, and 235-40-18 on another? I ask because 225-45-18's seem to be more accurate to the factory wheels, and are more common.

The falken's are better, but Kuhmo (even though the SPT is a summer tire only) is not bad, just a notch below imo. Take a look at Toyo's as well: All season High Performance = Proxes4 (should be around the same as the Falken ziex in cost), Summer Ultra High Performance = T1R (a little higher cost, 150-170 for 225-45-18). I love Toyo..had Kuhmo just before that, not bad but again a notch below.

I think the Toyo tires are much better. They have them at http://www.townfair.com They have a store in Manchester in front of Home Depot. My father just picked up a set for his '09 there.

Someday I will list my mods here
...but they did not list the T1R ? - I really like that tire, sticky, good cornering, not noisy, and very good dry and rain handling....just never come close to snow or cold temps.
Thanks for all your suggestions, I went with the SPT's because I want something thats reasonably cheap, that has decent performance in the summer, and discounttire.com had a 10% off deal going on, so I got 4 tires with wheel stems for $430.
Not bad et all...and nothing wrong with the SPT. Look at tirerack and their last test of high performance summer tires ... SPT is on top :-), not all will agree with that but it is a good sign for real good value.
