Please, to our wheel experts, I started to replace my lug nuts with the depicted red Muteki tuner lug nuts. The thread, angle, and lengths is all fine, but I recognized that the actual area of contact with the wheel is probably only half of the lugs I have. I compared them to two different sets of other, generic aftermarket wheel nuts - same thing. Question: Are all tuner lugs like that and nothing to worry about it? From looking at the wheels it is hard to tell how much of that slanted area is actually used to clamp the wheels in place. It's weekend and the shops are all already closed....so, therefore my post here. Any recommendation would be appreciated - want to be save before I continue.
I believe the reason why they are slanted is to protect the rims from scratches... what touches the rims is the horizontal surface area and not the slants... you should be fine
Thanks a lot, I probably could not describe it correct. My question was not about the slanted angle, which is correctto fit the wheel - but the outer diameter of the slanted hold down area. It's smaller (lug outer diameter thinner) on the Muteki. Just went to autozone and looked up theirs - they are all the same as the chrome in the picture.
I know that thread and the Muteki's are correct 12x1.5 and 60deg shoulder. The difference is the dimension in post #21 from TRD in his drawing : 0.793 - that outer diameter is different between the once I have on right now and the Muteki's. I am probably to anal about it ...but they hold my wheels on the car! Thanks - I forgot about TRD's picture, which makes it easier to explain.

o... hahha, well smaller the better, less change of scratching the rims
Update: When I started that thread I also sent that question to Tirerack, from whom I bought my wheels. I also gave them the exact type, pictures, and measurements of the lug nuts.
Here is their response (after a few back and forth to detail the info needed), which I just got today:
"Our tech department is saying that the lug seat is too small ..., and that all of the hardware we sell has a much larger seat face to engage the maximum amount on the lug seat."
