5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I been getting quotes from dealer on 09 se v6 and all of them are saying they either don't have black with leather or they don't have black at all. Is toyota not making many black camry?
Thank you for the link, the problem is dealers here are not willing to do state to state dealer swap. The profit margin is not that high. They either basically have to find one in los angeles or near by town or they will wait till one is available around town.
Auto malls are popular in the USA, I see. I hate the concept personally because you basically have to settle for whatever is on the lot. Frankly, if you're gonna be shelling out 5-digit numbers, I think you should not need to compromise on a SINGLE thing.

Agreed you should not compromise but I'm sure akira has taken factory orders at his store also.

Very true my car was a factory order. I say if you can wait I can get you a car. We order a lot because most dealers don't want to. We change almost anything on a car before its built.
Factory order here as well. It was worth the 4-6 weeks. My guy @ Toyota did a coast to coast search for my stripped, blue SE w/ a V6, and one did not exist, so he built one for me. Remember, it is your money, never settle for anything.

Damn I wish my dealer was like your company. I've noticed here in Toronto, dealers are so crappy that they don't even have a demo vehicle of each model available for you to drive!
Then when you actually want to buy a car, they start looking around the city only and try to offer you "similar" cars. They certainly make EVERY effort to discourage you from ordering a new car. I can understand that it will do more good for them to clear their own lot, but come on!
In German car dealerships, the assumption is that you WILL order a custom car. That's why they have binders and displays full of leather samples, exterior color samples, etc for this purpose.

Hey man. I just noticed you are in LA. I got mine over at Norwalk Toyota. One of the fleet managers had my car built for me. Shoot me a PM and I will give you his office number and a referral. He will get you exactly what you want, no BS.
