A/C Power Drain

I noticed this weekend for the first time when driving around with the a/c on theres a noticable power drain on my Camry LE i must not have noticed it when i test drove it, is this normal to have the I4 engine react a bit slower?

All engines do the same. The lower the HP, the more it can be noticed.

And with the summer coming and temps rising, the compressor head pressure will be up a few pounds more than during cooler weather, which draws even more horsepower. It could be worse. Back in the day, using those old York piston compressors, you often had to turn off the ac when you went up a long hill. You just don't know how well off you are.
