5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Some customers may experience a vibration feeling most noticeable under light acceleration between 35-45 mph on '07-'09 Camrys with 2AZ and 5AT. The ECM calibration has been revised.
Recalibrate the ECM (PCM) Engine & Transmission 0.9 hours
If I requested TSB-0068-08, would I get 0069-08 because it's the newest ECM calibration inclusiveof all prior ECM fixes? Or would I just get 0068-08 to correct for smoothness, my only concern?

You won't get 0069-08 unless you have that problem and the technician can duplicate it in a test drive.
You can get 0068-08 if you just say you have a hesitation/acceleration problem and w/o a technician's test drive.
I had both TSB's performed yesterday. I previously had the vibration varified by a technician on a test drive. I had been in contact with the service writter every 2 or 3 weeks asking about the 35-45 MPH vibration, to see if a TSB had been issued. Njerald's postings beat him to it. The same tech who took the test drive with me a while back said it would be best to do both TSB's. He did say the 0068-08 TSB must have a lot of information on it, as it was taking a long time to load that one.
Again, I would like to thank njerald for posting all these TSB's. They have been a big help to me and I'm sure to a lot of others on this forum.
My dealership service manager called me yesterday. He claims there are two new TSB's for my 2008. One is reprogramming and the other TSB involves torque converter replacement. He says a new torque converter is on its way and will call me when it arrives. Has anyone heard of this before?
I noticed mine vibrates between 70-80mph will this TSB work for that too?
Most vibrations at those speeds are caused by improper wheel balancing. If your car is still under warranty, I would take it back to your dealer and let them know of the issue.
It's been a week since I had this TSB done, and neither I nor my wife have noticed any more vibration at those speeds. I think Toyota finally has corrected this. This, along with the lastest shift enhancement TSB that njerald posted, finally makes the car shift as one would expect a Camry to shift.

What was vibrating? Ie:Steering column? Wheel? Entire car? Subtle or obvious? Also, is there still a lag when you accelerate slowly from a stop and while making a turn?
