TSB-0067-08 5/21/08 Noise from Auxiliary Port w/External Device
2007 Camry
supercedes TSB AU004-07
Some customers may notice noise in the auxiliary mode of their audio system when using an MP3 player or other external audio source connected to the 12V power port of the vehicle. An improved auxiliary port and an in-line filter has been developed to improve this condition. Use the repair procedure to install the new in-line filter and auxiliary port.
Thank god. I'm getting this done as early as Monday. Ive got a Ground Loop Isolator and the sound still buzzes in the Camry. It's not the xm, tested that. I wonder if it will help the volume situation. Anything I plug in the AUX jack the volume is WAY low compared to the CD or radio.
Is it possible to find the repair procedure for this TSB? I've swapped out my stock JBL system for a Nav system, so I'm not sure if they'll still perform this under warranty. I don't mind ordering the parts and doing it myself, as long as I have some sort of guide.
Ok, I took my car to San Juan Capistrano Toyota and they said they heard the noise problem but that it was caused by interference from a cheap power cable for my GPS and iPhone. I am using the original Garmin Nuvi GPS's cigarette light adapter to charge the GPS and a Belkin cig. light adapter for my iPod and iPhone. It is true that I only have the noise/whining sound when I am charging the GPS/iPhone.
Did anyone have any luck with getting this problem fixed by the dealer under warranty/TSB (other than buying an external noise filter)?
i just bought my 2007 LE about 3 weeks ago as a certified used toyota.
mine has this whine really bad. the tone of it goes up and down with the throttle.
does anyone know if this would be covered under the 3 month 3000mi warranty without paying a deductable?
forgot to add, i bought the car with 52k mi on it so it is outside the original 3/36k warranty.

It is unlikely that the dealership would cover this TSB issue, although you can try to take it to the them and see what they say. Otherwise go to Radio Shack and find an external noise filter (about $10 or so). It works just as well as the Toyota fix.

My guess is that this should be covered under the 3 month 3000 mile warranty, but I would give Toyota corporate a call at 1-800-331-4331 and ask customer service.
