What's worse for resale value, a hitch or a rack on top?? I'm moving...
Hi,
I am moving from west coast to east coast, and I'm planning on driving my '07 Camry LE cross country.
Shortly after that I plan on selling my car.
Anyone have any idea how bad a hitch would be for my car? supposing I want to take a trailer along (if it's doable with a two wheel drive- uhaul) will that lower the value of my car? is it generally not advisable?
How about a rack and container on top of the car? will either lower the value of the car?
Why don't you forget about both and use the money to ship your goods? If I would look for a used car, I would not like either one. Also, your long drive w/o rack or trailer will be much more enjoyable.
Well a roof rack clamps to the roof… so NOBODY would ever know that it was there or on it, they leave no marks what so ever. The only mark will be in your wallet with the prices of Tule and Yakima they are very costly but they are both AMAIZING products.
A trailer hitch you can also take off and only if someone got up underneath and looked to see if there was a trailer hitch. And there would be a couple of holes.
Think about it a little more. You may have been able to answer your own questions.

if you're going to sell it when you get to the west coast......why not ship all your stuff there, sell the car here, you'll get more because of the mileage, then if you drive there and put 3000 or so miles on it. and fly to your new location
