5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
off the top of my head, 3 spoke steering wheel, high rate springs, stock strut bar, stock 16" SE alloys, aluminum trim, orange optitron gauges, sport fabric seats, blacked out headlights, black pearl badging... just to say the least lol
From what I understand.. SE has some extra features. Sporty look, stiffer springs. I've seen SE with 4 banger so SE doesn't mean power.
The V6 SE doesn't have any more power then the LE either, they are both 268hp on the Gen 6. The only thing that means "sport" is the look of the grille, the ground effects, and the suspension stuff like stiffer springs.

Since when a 4 banger have the same power as the 6 banger?
Basically, it's noted standard feature on the brochure in the SE
Standard on Gen 6 SE:
Sunroof, rear spoiler, factory OEM bodykit, 17"rims, foglights, orange optitron gauges, three spoke wheel, stock strut brace, sport springs, black cloth seat fabric, brush aluminum dashboard, SE Sport Grille, black chrome emblems.
Standard on Gen 5 SE:
Sunroof, 16" wheels or steelies with hubs, (17" 5-spoke were only available on the V6 SE), foglights, rear spoiler, black fabric cloth seats, brush aluminum interior, Orange Optitron gauges, sport springs, stock front strut brace, SE Sport Grille, black chrome emblems.

Looking at 09 brochure, sunroof only included if you get a package
Rear spoiler has been somewhat discussed and is iffy. Brochure says optional. Some cars on the road today dont have rear spoiler but majority do.
Black chrome emblems? Since when? From what I see on TN and in person, its chrome.

The rear seat back in the LE will fold down for a pass through should you need to carry long stuff that won't fit in the trunk. The SE uses the area behind the rear seat for additional stiffening, hence no pass through seating.

handling and sport look (se) vs. smooth ride and neutral look (le) but it all comes down to how the car fits you. gen 6 se catches the eyes of the police more then the le...lol
