Just considering dropping my car - what approximately does this cost and what is involved?
Anyone know of a good place to have this done in the Toronto area?
Well in the U.S., the springs cost around $200 for the TRD lowering springs, and if you bring it to a dealer, expect to pay $350-$500 USD for installation.

No, their are some threads explaining how to do it. But if you don't have the tools and a little experience, I would recommend a dealer. In any case, you got to get an alignment afterwards.
I paid 660USD incl parts, labor, and alignment - all done at a Toyota dealer.
i paid 450 for everything. i got them done in Whitby..i am not naming them because i can't recommend them...they screwed me over on a brake job. but they installed the springs alright.
If Toyota installs the springs, I assume its covered under warranty as well as the car?
It doesn't matter who installs them. TRD parts are considered OEM and covered under OEM warranty unless they can prove the install was faulty and contributed to the failure.
If I have that wrong, someone please correct me.

You can get them done anywhere that does suspension work, me and two guys here from TN got together and installed my springs, took about 4 hours with some breaks.
^ it doesn't drop THAT low...and i know the area he's in and i drive there quite often and all over, never had a problem...speed bumps to be safe just angle yourself over them.

My local dealership (Power Toyota in Irvine, CA) said that the factory warranty would only continue to cover the car's suspension if you bought and had the springs installed at the dealership. They said the factory warranty for the suspension would be voided if anyone else installed them. I don't know if what they said was accurate though. By the way, Power Toyota claimed that the cost for the parts, labor, and alignment would be $1,200!! WTF?!?

I understand that TRD parts are OEM as its Toyota Racing Development. But you never know with these manufacturers and companies. Someone might think that they're covered but if anything happens, it will actually void warranty.
I think there was a thread here or somewhere i read that the owner was installing a radio into their Civic. The installation went or something because the circuitry or something malfucntioned and the manufacturers wouldnt cover it. The installers wouldnt cover it because they said there was something wrong with the electronics prior to installation or what not. So the owner is stuck in the middle.
