Don't waste your money on a 6 years old car + high miles, it's not worth it, you're gonna sell it sooner or later. Just save it for the down payment for your next car.

I regret upgrading my sound system on my old 00 corolla (sold).

Have you visually inspected the sturts and checked the rebound? Shocks and struts last much longer than they used to.

I have a car with 243,000 miles on it and and the shocks/struts work like they're new. Usually, they'll leak if there's a problem.

Push down on the suspension to get the car rocking up and down then release. If it stops bouncing in less then 2 cycles shocks are OK.

Check shocks for excess leakage, a little dampness that attracts dirts is OK.

I agree with all of that except the Camry doesn't have shocks. They're struts.

he's not wasting his money, the car is still in good shape, miles aren't THAT high for a Toyota.
