Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Just had my new rims and tires put on my car today. I had a great experience with the shop here in Toronto (Simply Tire) who was very patient with all my questions - and recommended the rims, mounted/balanced them and painted the calipers. Wouldn't hesitate to refer anyone to him - excellent service and best price.
18x8 +35 Advanti Racing polished/gunmetal rims
225-45-18 Yokohama ADVAN Sport tires
Black painted calipers with Toyota decals
Let me know what you think - the gun metal on the rims match the Magnetic Grey perfectly - and the +35 offset fits like a dream... The painted calipers really set everything off too.
Thanks guys - I really am happy with how it turned out and better yet, the service was phenomenal (and that's quite uncommon these days it seems, so I feel compelled to explicitly mention that). I considered literally 50 different rims before finding these and I'm loving how they look on my car.
The calipers were painted not powder coated in a multi stage process of several layers of lightly applied paint. The "Toyota" is a decal the shop had made - and applied it to caliper after the final top coat of paint was still tacky to adhere it well. They machined/cleaned the calipers first, so all things considered - it was a smokin' deal and nice touch for only $70 (even less with a tire/wheel package)...
Nice..I do like the toyota painted on. Not sure about me, but do some of the logos seem a bit off center?
Thanks - the decals have a slight curvature to follow the lines of the caliper - they do look a little off but I think that's the angle of the picture, because they're bang on in real life...
...they "machined" the calipers? Your calipers still should have been like new and I would hope a simple cleaning would suffice?! What did they exactly do?

Machined is probably not the correct term. I didn't actually watch it being done, but I could hear they were using some kind of device to clean the calipers and remove any embedded dirt/impurities in the stock surface before applying the paint.
Mine is a 2007 so although they didn't look old and rusty, they weren't clean and smooth as a baby's butt either

lol, they probably just use the air-gun to blast away all the dust on your calipers.

Where did you get the rims? I am in the process of looking for some, but I don't want chrome.
Tell me what you think, I have a 07 se V6 red I haven't done nothing to it as yet but want to put some serious cash into it, I was thinking about some bronze 19" or 20" or even gun metal (which would match the color of the se grill)
any links with the right products will do, I am also looking to a drop but not sure which one is right for the SE.
