2009 camry aftermarket alarm help

Hi everyone. First post!

I bought an 09 camry CE and was going to install a compustar p2wssr paging alarm in a week, and I had questions about immobilizer bypass. I was looking at the xk05 from bypasskits.com and they do not list the 09 camry as being compatible. Does anyone have suggestions? I dont want to use those bypass boxes that use up a key.

The dealership is charging 250 for installation.

Does the CE model have the vehicle immobilizer? I don't believe they do, if memory serves me.

I think it does. It is listed as one of the features on the window sticker.

Why the CEE EEE?

You could've gotten the LE loaded with keyless entry, trunk release, engine immobilizer, etc. for almost the same price.

Anyways, congratz.

^Thanks for the reply. The reason is that we also own an 06 LE camry, and I wasnt impressed with the factory alarm and options, or lack of. I'm not sure what the LE options are on the 6th gen, but I figured I could get a better quality aftermarket alarm, leather, etc. for cheaper. They tried to sell me the factory alarm/remote start + lojack for 800, but no dice.

As far as engine immobilizer. I am using the pkt2 bypass kit (in case someone is going the same route).

Did you get the XK05 installed? The highest the firmware for the XK05 was for 2008. Considering 2007-2009 is the same, I would think it would work.

OK. Everything is installed. I am running the compustar paging alarm/autostart, battery backup, 515r revenger backup siren, and key-override-SL for the immobilizer bypass. Everything works fine. The alarm is nice and the range is awesome. I am not sure if the xk05 will work. They gave me the key-override, so I went with that. If anyone needs or wants to try the xk05, Ill sell it for $25 shipped.

Dealer would not touch the car. I had to go to an aftermarket alarm shop. (Stay away from best buy!) The stuff I brought to the shop overkill but after researching so many components I must have impressed the saleswoman. I got a bunch of discounts and a date. Everything cost half of what toyota was quoting for the automate? factory alarm.
