Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
i love the lowered stance on the cars with adjustable coilovers, and they turn like none other
but wat about springs? they also give a lowered look, and they ride a little nicer, but handle a little less
is it worth the compromise?
i want to be able to throw my car all over the place and not worry about a thing, but i dont want the gut-busting bounce and rattles that are associated with hard coilovers
wat do you guys out there prefer?
also, for those who already have coilovers, wat brand and model are u runnin?
ive got a yearning for turns and i hate the intense bodyroll from my stock suspension setup, lol
ehm, their are many discussions about that in this forum!! But because we already talk about that topic - don't forget one other important point.
If you have a car, which is still under warranty you need to consider that TRD springs (and even better dealer installed with receipt) are fully warranted. Coilovers or any other springs might cause issues if you ever need to bring it to the dealer for related suspension problems.
(To our KTG team - that is one main reason I stick with my TRD's)
The thing is eclipse, the people who do have coilovers got it for looks. Its slammed WAY too much for any kind of performance if any. Cept I do take turns ridiculously fast rofl. Coilovers do help a lot in turning... but me and moky who are running megan coilovers have it at the same setting, around intermediate. Its about 2 clicks away from racetrack settings. Its super stiff right now.
Please do understand and realize that these camrys are ridiculously dropped, beyond comprehension lol.
Moky's Camry SE
rofl I just realized, push those rims out moky!
My Camry, LE w/ RKsport kit
INDOMI on D2 Racing
Don't ask about ride comfort, cuz thats thrown out the door for these three camrys lol

so if i want performance and good looks, then coilovers are the way to go
but just some looks with comfort, springs?
and yeah, i agree with lammydi, the coilover look is hella tight
i want that, but mine has no bodykit, so it would look like indomi's, which is still awesome looking
as for adjusting ride height and stiffness, how does megan compare to d2?
lol comfort? who buys a car for comfort?? j/k
peach, push those rims out? nah, push the rims away yes
hey my castle! lol
yeah there is always a compromise between form and functionality. the nice thing about the coilovers is the adjustable stiffness. you can drop your car lower than lowering springs can, and adjust the stiffness to match it. that way, if say you go for a moderate drop, you can set the stiffness to closer to a soft one. the only reason i put mine on stiff is so that i dont have the car bottoming out at the height i am driving at now
thats cool, i wana get coilovers, and im already used to the ride
a friend of mine had an integra a while ago that had his coilovers adjusted to the max, and that thing rattled just when u turned it on
my friend almost thru up from the bouncing and bumping one day driving to school, he got rid of it right after that!
i liked it tho, but he refused to sell it to me, lol
so now, i dream of bouncin in my own camry
