5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
What percentage do you guys recommend for a Black on Black 6th gen Camry? Up here in WA state the limit is 35% all around. Do you think any companies would install darker tint? I'm not sure what % I want on my car.

try for 20% all around...or 5% on the rear window/sides..and 20% or 35% on the front side windows.

with a black interior, i would get 35%. it will look like 20% at night. its always good to stay within legal limits too.. i have 20% on my salsa red 05 SE with tan interior. during the day its nice, at night its a bit dark
I seen a new IS350 AWD at the bank a few weeks ago. All black, black 20s and ALL the windows were dark as sin, even the windshield. Highly illegal? YES! Deviously stealthy in looks? Bet your ass!
Good luck man.

How can it be stealthy if it caught your attention and made such an impression on you. Cops aren't exactly blind. Then again...you don't even know what you saw since IS350 are RWD only.
35 is too light..even with black interior..i'd say 20 all around...i'm changing my fronts from 35 to 20..eventually..

20% is too dark on a rainy night. You can't see pedestrians well.
I use 30% all around on my Gen6 black Camry. It has the black leather interior. Indeed on a cloudy day the tint looks very dark. And 30% is in a sort of gray area where no cop will bother you about.

honestly speaking, i say whatever you pick, please please please keep it consistent with all windows. i know it's illegal to tint the front two windows but for appearnce sake. I like all four windows same tint... even if that means opting for a lighter shade.
also theres different types of tint. graphit, metallic wahtevers... i forgot which one i picked but it was the higher quality kind. they look darker in the afternoon/night as a poster above said. i think thats perfect because in day time cops won't notice as much but at night time it's hella dark but cops will just think it's just dark in general to tell.

The car was parked in front of the bank. It was not camouflaged. Also, no one said cops were blind. I stated tint that dark is illegal.
Besides, what is a thread like this really about? Is the OP willing to break the law or not? He stated the legal limit is 35%, but would not mind the fact that an installer near him would possibly install a darker shade. That is what I got from it anyway.
Also, I stand corrected on the awd/rwd point. Thanks for pointing that out. The badges and taillights were dark as well. Clean look.
