just wondering how does that sound when it's mdf and fibreglass, any difference from a fully sealed mdf one ?
I'm thinking of getting rid of my sealed box and try to put in my 12's either on the sides or the spare tire since I drive around without one lately anyway heh
thing is the quality in my box is amazing, I got it done to spec and fitment is perfect for my trunk
If that custom enclosure was made for the LEFT side, I'd be drooling all over.
All the wires and crap for my current "stand alone" sub come from the left rear seat so I don't want to carry these things diagonally across the trunk...

you can have it either side you want it, its a custom box,
I think a fiberglass enclosure is more rigid and stronger than a conventinal box.
all mine have been glassed and they always seemed to hit harder than
other boxes.
another benefit of a fiberglass enclosure is that it is all one piece
and the chance of an air leak is minimized. lastly, it looks clean and the trunk space
is saved!
Enclosure space seems relatively small since you also have to include sub displacement. JL's slimline would probably be the best choice for that amount of space to work with.
I was actually about to make that same style box for my two JL 10W3...Nice to see some already done. Any of you guys have an amp rack to go with it too? That's the only thing I'm unsure of which way to go with it.
Suppose I wanted a LEFT side enclosure to be done, with a single 12 inch subwoofer. Something decent that reaches below 30Hz, and can handle 300-500W RMS. What would this run me? I'll get my own amp here and wiring, etc. The $320 price includes a sub, or it's just the enclosure?
Thanks!

Google for that - their is a company making the custom enclosure for the left side for mid 200's USD. No amp, just enclosure.
PS: Just reread the thread and it appears the OP offers left and right anyway. Agree with Trojan - slim line, shallow mount are probably the best option.
