RPM Drop

I need help. I have a 2006 Camry which has a bit of a problem. When I'm travelling at a steady speed of 50 kph ( 30 mph ) the engine will drop about 200 rpm and the vehicle will kind of hesitate. I've taken it to the dealer who says that this is normal operation of the torque converter. I don't believe that it is. Any suggestions?

Billy

Might be the ECM... Get it recalibrated. (There is a TSB for the Gen 6, I don't know about the Gen 5).

Mine was hesitating too, until they recalibrated the ECM, it's completely gone now.

Gen6

Sounds like the torque converter locking up which gives you better fuel economy.

Touch the accelerator and it will unlock and possibly downshift if you give it more gas.

+1 on convertor lock up. That's what it sounds like to me.

+1 on posting more information too.
