Air Filter Search
Hi All...I've been trying to source an aftermarket performance air filter for my Australian spec Gen 6 Camry I4. It all started when I tried to transfer my AFE air filter from my Gen 5 I4 to my Gen 6 I4...I made the assumption that it would fit since its pretty much the same engine..boy, was I wrong
Strangely enough, the AFE filter from my Gen 5 I4 was way too big to fit in the airbox of my Gen 6 I4. I tried looking on the K&N site and the part number they list for their drop in air filter is the same for the the Gen 5 and Gen 6 I4s...somehow, I don't think that they are aware that the Australian spec Gen 6 I4 has a totally different airbox design to the Australian spec Gen 5 I4.
Is this the same for you guys in the US??? I might have to go with a pod filter in the end. I even contacted my local TRD dealer in Sydney and he doesn't have a listing for a TRD air filter to suit my Australian spec Gen 6 I4.
