5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I've been a member for a little less than a week now. I was wondering if any of you might be able to offer some help. I just bought a 2009 Camry SE V6. I've been looking for things to give the car more horsepower. I saw this site http://www.airplusauto.com/ ( you have to click the toyota link on the site It doesn't give a link straight to the toyota section) and I was wondering if getting a cold air intake system is worth getting for the amount it costs versus the horsepower gained. Also on the site there is an electric supercharger. If anyone has any information on that or has tried it I would be interested to hear about it. If there is anything else out there that you guys would recommend that is better I am also very open to suggestions. If this has already came up on a previous thread I am sorry. I searched but nothing came up. Thanks.
more then power the intake is worth it for the sound IMO. all i can think of to give you "some" more hp, i would have to say the intake and maybe a custom exhast/trd exhaust system might help. besides those i really cant think of anything else as there is nothing else made for the camry. haha
and as far as the electric scer goes, i really dont know what that is or even if it works. it seems like a intake with a fan on it to me.
The intake (with K&N filter) and exhaust are good tips on things to get started with. Not sure of anything else that is quick and relatively cheap to do to improve horsepower/torque performance.
The electric supercharger seems to be a major gimmick. If the following site is an example of one: http://www.electricsupercharger.com/ ..... Don't waste your money on it.
The funny thing is you can buy "electric superchargers" for 29.99$ on e-bay - which is basically a fan...and the "best" I found don't even need electricity, they just work magically. The site you linked asked for a whooping $329 - wow - so much for nothing. On e-bay someone claims up to 4psi with these "intake fans" .
So you think the K&N Typhoon Short Ram Air Intake is the best to get? Better than TRD?
That is also a good example of this "electric supercharger". I just had never heard of it and was wondering what it was. Thanks for the heads up though on it. I don't need to fall into a scam. Especially a $329 dollar scam. Thanks for the help again.
the electric superchargers, tornados and ebay performance chips are a crock of shit
be happy you have the V6. welcome to TN newbie...look around for some info on the various intake and exhuast setups avalaible for your camry.
