Last year my 05 camry got hit from the side and there were some damage to the passenger front fender and door. It was appraised at $500 to fix, but I'm wondering if I could find a replacement at the junk yard + paint.

Do you know if the 02 to 06 would fit perfectly?

Which is more cost effective? Go to shop or junk yard and get them painted if color don't match?

my 2005 SE got hit by a semi (literally!) and had a crease running from the back glass to the front windshield at about ear level. Both doors were very damaged. The estimate with both doors and rear fender replaced was over 6K. They were able to save the drivers door (fixed the glass and the upper door frame), but the rear door was a "reconditioned" part. It turned out to be the same color (they can order that way) but from a Japan built camry. The thing fits perfectly and the only difference was the stamp on the glass. Even the pinstripe was the same. The body shop told me that after market body parts are not yet available for the 2005. You either get "reconditioned" or you get a factory new door.
