5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Most of you probably know me and my car, so some of you probably know what Ive done to my car so far. I put a k&n drop in filter, and bypassed the larger part of the intake. Just today i removed the bottom resonator with amazing results. Mainly sound gains, but it does feel to have better throttle response. Here are the two vids for those of you that didn't see the first one. The second one was just recorded today. Note the sound difference between videos. Listen to stock, bypassed, then removed resonator. Big difference. In the near future I'm going to block off the top resonator, and also remove the sound dampener.
how hard was it to get at the resonator? i know in my accord i had to take the front bumper off to get that 1lb piece of plastic off
it wasent too hard, just took off the radiator cover(that plastic thing). THen the battery. THen i had to take off both front parts of the intake, (where the intake sits on the rad support). then took out the skrews, and lifted it right out.

i guess a nice little cheap mod but i definitly think an aftermarket intake sounds/works a lot better.
man u are lujcky to have 82 degree weather where u live. it was 82 degrees at 9:45 this morning.
your probably right, but its a leased car. I just couldn't justify spending $300 on a car I'm going to have for just 3 years. Then id be stuck with a used intake that id only be able to sell for a fraction of the cost.

sounds like you're following my route... hahha... you'll get the short ram soon enough
lol, yea i found out i could do allot of this from looking at your car domain. But again, i cant justify spending that much money on an intake for a car that technically isn't mine.
